Car Accident

While many people are still staying home, as businesses and offices start to re-open, we’re going to see more traffic on the road. And when North Texas gets rain, we always see an uptick in accidents.

Rain is in the forecast several days next week, so we thought this would be a good time to re-post some tips from the Dallas Police Department. They put together some common sense guidelines for driving in the rain:

  • Traffic may be heavy, so give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination
  • Don’t forget to use your headlights
  • Drive a safe distance between you and the vehicle ahead
  • Roads can be extra slippery and dangerous so drive at or below the speed limit
  • Check your tire pressure. Over-inflated tires reduce grip. Under-inflated tires may result in serious aquaplaning
  • Make sure your windshield wipers are working properly. If needed, change them before driving in the rain

Most of these suggestions are common sense, so please slow down, stay off your phone, and be alert.
