Did you know that 44.3% of fatal crashes in Texas involved a motorist who was not wearing a seat belt?
When we saw this number, we couldn’t believe our eyes!
It was 35 years ago that Texas enacted a law that requires all Texas motorists to wear a seat belt. But looking at crashes between 2016-2018, data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration showed close to half of all crashes in North Texas involved a motorist not using a seat belt.
We can do better. Every time you get into your car, please make sure you and your passengers buckle up!
