Earlier this month, Houston’s police chief issued a ticket to a driver going 140mph.

Chief Art Acevedo gave chase in his police Chevy Tahoe, which topped out at 120mph, but he eventually caught up to the driver of the Dodge Viper. The speed limit on this particular stretch of the Hardy Toll Road was 65mph. Chief Acevedo issued a ticket that included a fine of $304.

This story caught our eye because a driver behaving that recklessly often has terrible consequences. Thankfully, in this case, no one was injured (or killed). If you or someone you know has been involved in an accident – whether speed was a factor or not – please contact the Harris Firm to discuss your options.
