It’s not often that justice is served immediately, but that’s what happened last week in Miami.
Marcos Pacheco-Bustamante was impersonating a cop when he activated a blue siren on his Ford Crown Victoria and pulled over an SUV on Interstate 95. Incredibly, the man he pulled over was Alton Martin, a Miami-Dade detective who was in full uniform at the time.
Once pulled over, Martin got out and walked toward the impersonator and his “cruiser.” Martin says he knew immediately the man was not a real police officer. Bustamante was immediately taken into custody and charged with falsely impersonating a police officer. Bond was set at $5,000.
Pacheco-Bustamante allegedly told authorities he had done this before – but always with good intentions. He claims everyone he pulled over was speeding or texting while driving.
To the men and women who protect and serve our communities, we offer our thanks!
