Driving in Dallas feels less like a commute and more like a constant nightmare that greets you in the morning and the early evening. A recent study by the Car Insurance Companies proves that fear is no joke; Dallas ranks as the third most dangerous city for drivers.
Using data from 2017, the Car Insurance Companies created a composite score for cities around the nation. Factors in the composite included the likelihood of getting in a wreck, traffic-related deaths, and vehicle theft rate.
Dallas ranked third in the nation behind Baton Rouge, LA, and Savannah, GA, respectively. But Big D wasn’t the only Texas city in the top 25:
- Mesquite ranked 16th
- Houston ranked 19th
- Fort Worth ranked 21st
Other North Texas cities in the top 100:
- Garland ranked 47th
- Grand Prairie ranked 83rd
- Arlington ranked 89th
- Plano ranked 100th
