Earlier this month, Nancy Jackson Carroll was sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay more than $8.6 million in restitution to her victims. The crime? Carroll committed numerous and repeated acts of money laundering.
Carroll, who also went by Nancy Jackson Spinks, skimmed money from countless real estate transactions that went through her various title companies, including Millennium Title in Southlake. The 46-year old was a former attorney – and not only lost her license to practice law, she must also surrender her insurance and real estate licenses.
Carroll was not shy about spending her ill-gotten gains. She owned numerous parcels of real estate, a number of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, horses, and fur coats. She also spent $100,000 on her second wedding, and $12,500 for a Taylor Swift concert.
In a recorded phone call with her mother in 2016, she laughed about what she’d done and said, they were only “white collar.”
