Have you ever been in a meeting, a wedding, or perhaps a church service and your cell phone rings? We’ve all experienced that moment of panic as we fumbled to turn off the ringer as quickly as possible.
Well, we can all feel a little better about ourselves after the Associated Press reported, Justice Stephen Breyer forgot to turn off his cell phone during the start of an oral argument.
His colleagues reportedly broke into smiles and some even giggled as Breyer immediately reached to turn it off.
Electronic devices – including cell phones – are not allowed inside the Supreme Court, but that rule may not apply to the justices.
While Supreme Court justices are naturally held in very high esteem, it’s nice to know they’re just as prone to making a boneheaded mistake.
