Unfortunately, we are seeing a number of stories about pedestrians being struck by drivers. In Denton, a 41-year old woman was injured by a drunk driver while crossing a street.
The incident occurred at the intersection of East Hickory and Austin streets. The pedestrian was crossing East Hickory Street when she was hit by a Ford F-150. The woman was taken to a hospital with a head injury, but it was not believed to be life threatening.
The driver was arrested and faces a number of charges including intoxication assault, resisting arrest, assaulting a public servant, and attempting to take a weapon from an officer.
This incident occurred just a few days after a 73-year old man was struck and killed while walking his dogs in Denton.
