According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Texas had 619 pedestrian fatalities in 2018. And that number is expected to rise this year.
So what’s the problem? According to the nonpartisan Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety, it’s a several factors including distracted drivers (surprise!), larger vehicles and more people getting out and about.
