Marshall Smith might want to reconsider his career choice.
Last week in Fort Worth, Smith was caught in the back room of Paco’s Mexican Cuisine with a bag full of meat. The owner, Francisco Islas, could hear someone rummaging around, so he grabbed a large lock in case he needed protection, and confronted the robber.
When he caught Smith and saw the bag of goods at his feet, he decided to lock him inside the freezer and called the Fort Worth police. With the temperature inside the freezer hovering around 10-15 degrees, Smith made his own emergency call to police.
Smith, who’s 36, told police he was inside the freezer because he heard a cat in the alley. He made his way inside the freezer to see if he could rescue it. After a quick search, police could not find a cat.
However, Smith was arrested in connection with the attempted burglary. The bag of meat, including some quail, pork tenderloins, and sausage links, was valued at $400.
